DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Phoenician Garden Mediterranean Bar and Grill, where the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean come alive in the heart of Fresno, California. Nestled conveniently at 1025 E Herndon Ave #106, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere that transports diners straight to the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean.

As a food reviewer, I’m captivated by the array of dishes that Phoenician Garden has to offer. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of grilled spices and freshly baked pita envelopes you, setting the stage for an exceptional culinary adventure. Customers rave about the spicy chicken, which is a hit for its bold flavors and perfectly tender meat. One reviewer shared their experience with DoorDash, highlighting the necessity of extra garlic sauce to complement the dish - a testament to the rich flavors that make every bite a delight.

Vegetarians will also find a special place in this restaurant, as the Vegetarian plan includes delicious staples like baba ganouj, hummus, flavorful falafel, and dolmas. One patron praised the presentation and flavor, noting that you don’t have to be vegetarian to fully enjoy this dish. The freshness and quality are consistently excellent, making it a must-try for everyone.

And let's not overlook the desserts! The Kneffeh, a delightful concoction of sweet mozzarella and ricotta tucked beneath flaky phyllo, is adorned with crushed pistachios and rose water. Despite initial reservations about the rose water, its delicate flavor here won over even the most hesitant of reviewers. It's the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet note.

Service at Phoenician Garden is equally commendable. Guests consistently highlight the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, with one family even noting the accommodating nature of the restaurant in celebrating special occasions like birthdays.

With its diverse menu featuring shwarma, kebabs, creamy hummus, and hearty lentil soup, Phoenician Garden Mediterranean Bar and Grill is not just a meal; it’s an experience that invites exploration, joy, and a full embrace of Mediterranean culture. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this hidden gem is worth a visit – I wholeheartedly recommend making it your next dining destination!

Beef Skewer (1 Skewer)

Tender slices of beef that have been blessed by the 7-spice mix straight from Lebanon. Yeah, you heard us right, SEVEN spices. No basic salt-and-pepper nonsense here. This skewer is seasoned to perfection. Our beef is grilled to that ideal state of charred-but-not-burnt, making it almost too pretty to eat. Almost. We’ve interspersed chunks of onions and bell peppers in between and perched it on a half pita. It's like a party on a stick, and everyone’s invited! Order is for 1 skewer.

Ordered the spicy chicken with extra chicken on DoorDash, and it was delicious. It comes with one garlic sauce, but if you are ordering extra chicken then I recommend purchasing another garlic sauce for the side. We also ordered the bag of pita (there is a lot of pita in there), and it was good to go with our meal. Our dessert was the piece of chocolate cake, and that was really yummy!

Being a tourist, I love exploring places I cannot find in Florida. Stop by Phoenician after a long day hiking, I was starving! This place did not disappoint. I’m Latina and I love my spicy food. The spicy chicken wrap was indeed spicy. The humus was delicious. And that lentil soup, hit the spot! Definitely recommend this place.

Service was great from host to server to...owner I think? Older gentleman dressed differently from the rest of the staff hooked up some delicious ashtaleih for the wife and I after some shwarma and kebabs. The food is 10 out of 10 I finished my plate and hers. Can't recommend enough!

Loved the food, atmosphere, and service. The waitress was so nice. They were so nice and had no problem serving cake for my daughters birthday.

It’s been a few years since I’ve actually eaten here. I did order the baba ganouj and the hummus here for my wedding a few months ago. I believe this to be a somewhat hidden gem because I have recommended people looking for Mediterranean food and most don’t know about this place when I mention it. All the times that I’ve been here to eat, the food and service is always excellent. Today I ordered the Vegetarian plan. It comes with baba ganouj, hummus, pile of pita bread, couple falafel, couple grape leaf roll (Dolmas) and a bulgar wheat which they made it into a rice looking entree. Everything on this plate was so good. I highly recommend and you don’t have to be vegetarian to enjoy. Then I ordered a gyro with a beef and lamb meat that was so scrumptious. Also a must have or try. Lastly, for dessert we ordered the Kneffeh which is a sweet mozzarella with ricotta cake pudding topped with shredded Philo dough that was soaked in rose water. This was short of nothing but fantastic. If rose water sounds like a turn off, this one shouldn’t because I’m not a fan but this I am a fan. Oh and it was topped with crushed pistachios. I highly recommend this place and the service is always excellent. They also have a full service bar. Make this place a must visit.

We met one of the Chefs John a.k.a “Tiny” at San Joaquin river and he recommended this place. It was an amazing eating experience. The plate sizes are huge and the food is fresh and authentic. I recommend the fish shawarma, it was the best flavorful, tender, juiciest fish I have ever eaten! Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. Best Mediterranean in the county hands down!

Absolute outstanding service and food. I was blown away by everything I even asked for a mimosa, which was not on the menu and the server and the owner made it happen for me. The food was excellent hot fresh. You can taste the delicious ingredients. The selection is amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful the music I loved so much this place is literally 10 out of 10. It’s my new favorite spot for sure I could go on and on about this place. for the owners to go and check on you and talk to you and ask how the service and food was now that’s service !
